Ski Opening Day (weather permitting) Anthony Lakes Mountain Resort sits at 7100 feet and is usually open from late November through April. The hours are Thursday through Saturday from 9 am to 4 pm. In winter the highway ends at the Resort. The triple chair lift at the Resort carries skiers and snowboarders to the top for a panoramic view and great powder for the ride down.

T&T Wildlife Tours provide elk Viewing Tours in cooperation with the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife. Come ride on a horse drawn, handicapped wagon and get within 5 feet of at least 150 Rocky Mountain Elk. Tours are offered every weekend, Saturday and Sunday from 11:00am.-2:00 pm, with trip departing every half hour. The season length is mid December – end of February. The tours are located at the Anthony Creek sight. The Anthony Creek feed site, part of the Elkhorn Wildlife area, is easy to reach on snow groomed, paved roads. Take exit 285 off Interstate 84 at North Powder, between La Grande and Baker City. Travel 8 miles west on North Powder River Lane, following the brown “wildlife viewing signs”. We have experienced in 07-08 over 200 head of Rocky Mountain Elk at this site. Of these there are over 20 antlered animals. You usually can get within 5 feet of the herd itself.
